About Organisation
Pfizer is a leading global biopharmaceutical company committed to improving health and well-being through innovative research and development. The organization is dedicated to addressing significant health challenges, including debilitating neurological conditions such as migraine, which affects over one billion people worldwide. Pfizer aims to collaborate with investigators and researchers to advance scientific understanding and treatment of migraine through partnerships that leverage diverse expertise and innovative research approaches. By working alongside medical professionals, Pfizer seeks to co-develop research studies that fill existing knowledge gaps and improve patient outcomes. The company values collaboration, transparency, and a commitment to scientific excellence, fostering an environment where innovative ideas can thrive. Through initiatives like the competitive call for collaborators, Pfizer encourages research that not only advances the science of migraine treatment but also prioritizes patient-centric solutions. This partnership-focused approach aims to develop impactful research studies that can lead to breakthroughs in migraine management, ultimately benefiting individuals living with this debilitating condition.
About the Grant
The competitive call for collaborators by Pfizer invites innovative researchers to submit proposals focused on developing studies in migraine research. This initiative aims to identify investigators who are eager to partner with Pfizer and other like-minded professionals to co-create impactful research projects. Successful proposals will enable investigators to work closely with Pfizer’s medical team to co-develop study protocols and projects, with the investigator serving as the regulatory sponsor.
This call for collaboration emphasizes the importance of addressing the substantial gaps in knowledge regarding migraine, a condition ranked among the top three most debilitating neurological diseases. The selection process consists of two steps: first, investigators must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) summarizing their proposed project. Chosen LOIs will then advance to the next stage for further development into a formal research collaboration. Funding of up to $500,000 USD is available for single-site study designs, with project durations ranging from 24 to 36 months. This grant represents an opportunity to enhance understanding and treatment of migraines through innovative, collaborative research efforts.
Who can Apply?
Eligibility for the competitive call for collaborators is open to institutions and Principal Investigators (PIs) based in eligible countries. Organizations, rather than individuals or medical practice groups, are the primary recipients of funding and in-kind support. If a project involves multiple departments or institutions, all participating organizations must play a relevant role, with the requesting organization assuming a key position in the project.
To qualify, the Principal Investigator must possess a medical or postdoctoral degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent), an advanced nursing degree (BSN with an MS or PhD), or a degree in Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, or Social Work. Additionally, the applicant must either be the PI or an authorized representative, such as the PI’s research coordinator. This ensures that the project is led by qualified individuals with the necessary expertise to conduct high-quality research. The focus on institutional collaboration and rigorous qualifications aims to foster impactful research that addresses the pressing needs in migraine management and treatment, ultimately benefiting individuals affected by this condition.
How to Apply?
To apply for the grant, interested investigators must first submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) outlining their proposed research project. Selected LOIs will progress to the next phase for collaboration with Pfizer’s medical team in developing a formal research study and final protocol. Ensure your organization meets all eligibility requirements before submitting the LOI to participate in this initiative.
