About the Grant
The Idea2PoC/ELEVATE program is an initiative of the Government of Karnataka, designed to support and fund innovative startups in the state. The grant aims to help early-stage startups transform their ideas into validated proof-of-concept solutions while enabling them to scale through technological advancements. Selected startups can receive a one-time grant-in-aid of up to INR 50 lakhs, providing much-needed financial support to develop and expand their business models. Beyond funding, the program offers mentoring, incubation support at subsidized rates in government-backed centres, and access to industry networks. This comprehensive support ensures that startups not only validate their products but also receive guidance for growth and long-term sustainability. Special focus is given to inclusivity, with dedicated schemes like Elevate Unnati 2025 for SC/ST entrepreneurs and Elevate Minorities 2025 for startups led by minority community members. These categories ensure equitable opportunities by mandating specific shareholding patterns and community certifications. By encouraging innovation, job creation, and wealth generation, the grant serves as a catalyst for entrepreneurial success. The program reinforces Karnataka’s vision of becoming a hub for innovation and technology while creating a thriving ecosystem that empowers both emerging and underrepresented entrepreneurs.
Who can Apply?
The Idea2PoC/ELEVATE program is open to startups incorporated or registered in Karnataka as private limited companies under the Companies Act, 2013, partnerships under the Partnership Act, 1932, or limited liability partnerships under the LLP Act, 2008. Eligible startups must be within 10 years of incorporation and should not have exceeded an annual turnover of INR 100 crores in any financial year since registration. The program is specifically designed for startups working on innovation, improvement of products, services, or processes with the potential to create jobs and generate wealth.
For Elevate Unnati 2025, startups must be led by SC/ST entrepreneurs, with at least 70% equity held collectively by SC/ST partners or directors. Valid digital caste certificates issued by the Government of Karnataka are mandatory, and the ownership condition must remain unchanged throughout the project duration.
For Elevate Minorities 2025, startups must have at least 51% equity owned collectively by members of minority communities, with valid minority certificates issued by the Revenue Department. Similar to SC/ST provisions, the equity structure must be maintained throughout the program.
These eligibility conditions ensure that the program not only supports technological innovation but also promotes inclusivity and empowerment among underrepresented groups.
