Call for Grant Applications – Peace Research Grant
About Organisation
The IPRA Foundation was established to support peace research and promote scholarly work that contributes to global harmony. Since the inception of the Peace Research Grants Fund in 2002, the foundation has funded numerous research projects worldwide, including in Argentina, Bosnia, inner-city communities in the United States, the Middle East, the Philippines, the Punjab, and Uganda. These grants aim to assist scholars in advancing research on peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and social harmony. Initially, the foundation operated the Small Peace Research Grants Program, which was later replaced in 2013 by the IPRA Foundation Peace Research Grants Program, offering larger funding of up to $5,000. The foundation remains dedicated to fostering innovative research that addresses contemporary global challenges in peace and conflict studies.
About the Grant
The IPRA Foundation Peace Research Grants are designed to provide financial assistance to scholars conducting small-scale research projects focused on peace studies. Since 2013, the program has offered grants of up to $5,000 to support academic research that contributes to global peace initiatives. The grants are awarded to individuals rather than institutions or organizations. The funding is strictly allocated to research-related expenses, excluding overhead costs, indirect administrative expenses, rent, and personal living costs. The application process includes an initial review by the Peace Research Grant Administrator, followed by evaluation by three board members of the IPRA Foundation. The grants serve as a valuable resource for scholars who are passionate about peace research and wish to make a meaningful contribution to the field.
Who can Apply?
The Peace Research Grants are available to individual scholars engaged in peace and conflict research. The grants are not awarded to institutions or organizations, ensuring that financial support is directly provided to researchers. Those who have previously received a grant from the IPRA Foundation are ineligible to apply again. Applicants must submit their proposals during the designated application windows, and the research project must align with the foundation’s mission of promoting peace and conflict resolution. The grants do not cover overhead costs, administrative fees, rent, or general living expenses.
