2027 AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Competition (United States)

About Organisation
AmeriCorps is a U.S. federal agency that brings people together through national and community service to address important challenges across the United States. Its programmes support volunteerism, civic engagement and community-based service while helping individuals contribute their skills and experience to local priorities. AmeriCorps Seniors focuses specifically on engaging older adults in meaningful volunteer opportunities. Through programmes such as the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), older Americans can use their knowledge, experience and community connections to support individuals and communities. The programme also helps participating organizations strengthen their volunteer capacity and develop sustainable community-service initiatives addressing locally identified needs.
About the Grant
The 2027 AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Competition supports organizations that engage adults aged 55 and older in meaningful volunteer service. Funded initiatives should use the experience, knowledge and skills of older volunteers to address important community needs and generate measurable benefits. Activities may focus on community support, assistance to vulnerable populations, civic engagement, social services and other locally identified priorities. The programme is designed not simply to provide volunteer opportunities, but to create structured service roles where older adults can make a meaningful contribution. Organizations are expected to demonstrate how volunteers will be recruited, trained, supported and connected to measurable community outcomes.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants can include federally recognized Native American tribal governments, county governments, city or township governments, special district governments, tribal organizations, state governments, nonprofit organizations and public or private institutions of higher education. Applicants should have the organizational capacity to recruit, train, manage, supervise and support volunteers aged 55 and older. Organizations should also demonstrate their ability to identify meaningful community needs, establish appropriate volunteer roles, track volunteer contributions and measure outcomes. Applicants must meet all additional requirements contained in the official competition notice and application instructions.
