About the Grant
The Transformative Research Challenge 2026 is a flagship global research challenge designed to support youth-led agrifood innovation grants. It focuses on projects that have demonstrated proof of concept and are ready for further validation and real-world application. Participants receive mentorship, training, and expert guidance to refine their research and prepare for implementation. Finalists present their work at a global मंच in Rome, gaining visibility and recognition. This international research grant 2026 aims to bridge the gap between lab-tested ideas and field deployment, helping young researchers transform evidence-based solutions into impactful, scalable innovations in food systems and sustainability.
Who can Apply?
This global research challenge is open to young innovators aged 18–35 who are actively engaged in agrifood innovation grants and applied research. Applicants must have projects with a proven proof of concept, supported by data and experimental validation (Technology Readiness Levels 3–5). The research should be evidence-based, scientifically sound, and designed with measurable outcomes. Teams should demonstrate technical expertise and a clear pathway toward real-world application. Projects that are purely theoretical, advocacy-driven, or already commercialised are not eligible. The programme prioritises youth research funding opportunities that showcase innovation, feasibility, and potential for sustainable impact in global food systems.
How to Apply?
Applicants must submit their research project under the Transformative Research Challenge 2026 through the official application process. The submission should include details of the proof of concept, methodology, and validation results. Teams are required to present a clear Research-to-Impact plan outlining how their solution can transition to real-world piloting.
