About the Grant

The Industry-Academia Research and Development Programme 2026 supports collaborative projects between industry and academic partners from India and France. The programme aims to develop innovative products, technologies, and processes with strong commercialization potential. Priority areas include artificial intelligence, machine learning, renewable energy, smart mobility, agricultural technology, sustainable nutrition, biotechnology, healthcare innovation, public health, waste management, and circular economy solutions. Projects should demonstrate proof of concept, advance technology readiness levels, and outline a clear pathway toward prototype development and market adoption. The initiative encourages industry-driven research that delivers practical solutions while strengthening international innovation partnerships.

Who can Apply?

The programme is open to industrial organisations, startups, SMEs, MSMEs, large companies, academic institutions, research organisations, national laboratories, and clinical establishments from India and France. Applicants are encouraged to follow a preferred 2+2 partnership model consisting of at least one industry partner and one research institution from each country. Alternative consortium structures may also be considered with appropriate justification. Each proposal must be industry-centric and include clearly defined roles for all participating organisations. Applicants must identify principal investigators from both countries and establish a joint research agreement covering intellectual property rights, responsibilities, royalties, and commercialization arrangements before funding is released.

How to Apply?

Applicants should prepare a joint proposal outlining project objectives, innovation potential, research methodology, commercialization strategy, partnership structure, and expected outcomes.
