About Organisation
Inovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) is an initiative of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, established to encourage innovation and technological development in the defence and aerospace sectors. The programme connects startups, innovators, MSMEs, research institutions and the Indian defence ecosystem to develop advanced solutions for military applications. Through funding, mentorship and institutional support, iDEX promotes indigenous defence technologies and strengthens India’s innovation capabilities. Its programmes provide opportunities for entrepreneurs and technology developers working on emerging solutions. About the Grant
The iDEX Open Challenge 2026 supports innovators developing advanced technologies for India’s defence and aerospace requirements. The programme seeks practical solutions involving autonomous systems, intelligent machines, advanced materials, predictive technologies and other emerging defence capabilities. Selected applicants can receive financial assistance to develop and validate their proposed innovations. Who can Apply?
