About Organisation

D-Prize is a global competition focused on addressing poverty by improving the distribution of solutions that are already known to work. The initiative is based on the understanding that many effective poverty interventions exist but fail to reach the communities that need them most.

Through its competition, D-Prize identifies entrepreneurs who can develop practical, scalable organisations to improve the last-mile distribution of proven interventions. It supports founders who want to build sustainable delivery models and expand access to essential products and services.

About the Grant

The D-Prize Global Competition 2026–27 invites entrepreneurs and aspiring social-impact founders to develop new organisations that can distribute proven poverty interventions at scale. Rather than funding the invention of entirely new products, the competition focuses on making existing, evidence-based solutions more accessible to underserved populations.

Applicants can choose from a range of distribution challenges covering areas such as healthcare, education, agriculture, energy, water and sanitation. The objective is to develop a practical model that can bring proven interventions to communities that are currently underserved.

Selected entrepreneurs can receive up to US$20,000 in seed funding to launch a pilot version of their organisation and demonstrate the effectiveness of their distribution model. The competition follows a multi-stage selection process, beginning with a short concept note and progressing to further evaluation for shortlisted applicants.

Who can Apply?

The competition primarily supports new organisations and first-time entrepreneurs interested in establishing an organisation focused on distributing an evidence-based poverty intervention. Applicants from low- and middle-income countries are particularly encouraged.

Existing organisations may be considered where their primary focus is distributing an established intervention. However, D-Prize generally does not support organisations with more than 18 months of full-time operations or those that have raised more than US$30,000. Applicants should review the official eligibility criteria and selected distribution challenges before applying.

How to Apply?

Applicants should visit the official D-Prize website and select the distribution challenge that best matches their proposed intervention. They must download the relevant application packet and prepare a two-page concept note along with the required résumé or résumés.
Applications must be submitted through the official competition process. Applicants who require additional time can register for the official deadline extension.

Application Deadline

The application deadline is 6 December 2026.
