About the Grant
The Bharat ClimateTech Initiative is a focused program designed to support high-potential early-stage startups working in the climate technology space. Jointly launched by IIMA Ventures and MUFG, the initiative will select 6 to 7 startups that are working at the intersection of sustainability and innovation. These selected ventures will receive catalytic capital and specialized support to help them move from idea to impact. The grant aims to nurture technology-driven solutions that tackle pressing climate challenges across thematic areas such as decarbonisation, waste-to-value models, climate tracking and reporting, alternative fuels, and climate finance. Selected startups will receive up to ₹40 lakhs in funding, alongside extensive non-financial support. This includes mentorship from climate-tech experts, access to market and investor networks, cloud credits, and exclusive offers from service providers. The initiative emphasizes not only financial aid but also holistic business support to ensure long-term scalability and effectiveness. It is tailored to ventures that are validating their solutions or on the verge of commercialization, thereby accelerating their growth and impact potential in the green economy.
Who can Apply?
The Bharat ClimateTech Initiative welcomes applications from early-stage startups that are building innovative solutions in the climate-tech domain. Eligible ventures must be legally registered and operational in India. The program targets startups that are in the pre-seed to seed stage of development, working to validate or develop their technology-enabled products or services. Startups applying should be focused on tackling critical issues within the climate and sustainability sectors—such as carbon emission reduction, waste management, renewable fuels, climate data and analytics, or green finance. Ideal applicants are impact-driven teams with a strong vision for environmental sustainability and a scalable business model. The initiative is particularly suitable for founders who are looking for both financial backing and ecosystem support to take their innovation to the next level. Whether a team is building hardware, software, or hybrid solutions, if they demonstrate potential for significant climate impact and meet the registration and stage criteria, they are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply?
Eligible startups can submit their applications by filling out the official form for the Bharat ClimateTech Initiative. The process includes basic venture information, solution overview, and potential climate impact. Shortlisted teams will be contacted.
Application Deadline
Applications for the Bharat ClimateTech Initiative must be submitted no later than 26th June 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.

Grant Amount
