About Organisation
Zero Prize is India’s first national results-based environmental award programme that recognises organisations and innovators delivering measurable reductions in air, water, and land pollution. The initiative promotes scalable environmental technologies and practical climate solutions capable of generating real-world impact. By rewarding evidence-based innovation, Zero Prize encourages entrepreneurs, startups, companies, research institutions, and public bodies to accelerate sustainable development. The programme focuses on proven environmental outcomes rather than concepts, helping identify and support high-impact innovations that contribute to cleaner ecosystems, improved public health, and long-term environmental resilience across India.
About the Grant
Zero Prize 2026 offers a total award pool of ₹5 crore to recognise innovations that demonstrate measurable reductions in environmental pollution. The programme supports technologies and solutions addressing air, water, and land or waste pollution that have already been tested in real-world environments. Applicants should have operational solutions with verifiable environmental impact and the potential for large-scale implementation. In addition to the main award, special prizes of up to ₹10 lakh are available for Youth Innovation, Civic Innovation, and the Popular Vote category. The initiative rewards measurable environmental impact rather than ideas at an early stage.
Who can Apply?
The programme is open to startups, companies, research institutions, innovators, and other organisations developing practical environmental solutions. Applicants should have technologies at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 or above, meaning their innovation has already been tested in relevant real-world conditions. Solutions must be operational, supported by measurable data, and demonstrate proven reductions in air, water, or land/waste pollution. Projects should show scalability and the ability to create meaningful environmental impact. Youth innovators below 24 years of age and eligible government bodies may also apply under the programme’s special award categories.
How to Apply?
Visit the official Zero Prize application portal and complete the online application form before the deadline. Provide details about your innovation, implementation stage, measurable environmental impact, supporting evidence, and scalability. Ensure your solution meets the TRL 6+ requirement and includes verified pollution reduction data. Submit all required information through the official application system for evaluation.
