About Organisation
Aidsfonds is an international organisation working to end AIDS and improve access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and rights-based services. The organisation supports community-led responses and works with affected communities, civil society organisations and partners to address barriers to HIV services. Its new ActHIVate Fund has been established to strengthen HIV responses led by and serving men who have sex with men and trans communities in places where access to healthcare remains severely restricted. The fund recognises the importance of flexible support for community organisations, including resources for HIV services, strategic advocacy, organisational strengthening and integration of community-led approaches into health systems.
About the Grant
The first ActHIVate Fund call provides a total funding pool of €2 million for community-led organisations working on HIV responses for and by MSM and trans communities. Funding can support HIV-related health services, prevention and treatment linkages, strategic advocacy, organisational strengthening and efforts to integrate community-led approaches into health systems. Proposed projects must be implemented between April 2027 and December 2028. The call is specifically designed for organisations with established experience in HIV-related programming and advocacy, rather than general health or social development organisations.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants are community-led, not-for-profit civil society organisations that are led by and primarily serve men who have sex with men and trans communities. Applicants must demonstrate experience in HIV-related health programming and advocacy. The current call covers organisations working in Uganda, Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt, Lebanon, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova. Organisations must be able to implement the proposed project during the specified 2027–2028 period and submit their application in English through the Aidsfonds Good Grants platform.
How to Apply?
Eligible organisations should download and review the full ActHIVate Request for Proposals, prepare their project proposal and budget, and submit the application through the Aidsfonds Good Grants platform. Applicants should demonstrate their community leadership, HIV programming experience, advocacy capacity, proposed activities, expected outcomes and organisational needs. Aidsfonds is also holding an online Q&A session on 30 September 2026.
