About the Grant

The BLAS International Summer School Bursaries support artists attending the BLAS International Summer School of Irish Traditional Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. Two bursaries are available, each covering the full cost of one week of intensive tuition. The programme includes masterclasses, lectures, Irish language sessions, concerts, and cultural learning. The bursaries aim to support professional development and deepen engagement with Irish traditional music, song, and dance through structured, high-quality training delivered in an immersive learning environment.

Who can Apply?

Applicants must be resident within the Tipperary administrative area and be at least 18 years old by 1 June 2026. The bursaries are open to artists working in Irish traditional music, song, or dance who have achieved at least an intermediate level of proficiency in their chosen discipline. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to developing their artistic practice through participation in professional training. Only eligible applicants meeting all residency, age, and skill-level requirements will be considered for selection.

How to Apply?

Applicants must complete and submit the required application form by the stated deadline. All applications must be fully completed and submitted on time. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Successful applicants will have their bursary payment made directly to the BLAS International Summer School on their behalf.

Applications for the BLAS International Summer School Bursaries must be submitted by 12:00 noon on 26 March 2026. Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted.
